Egg custard

Per person

  • 100ml milk + some butter if you're feeling saucey
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 12g sugar
  • Some vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp cornflour

Method

  • Heat milk and butter till just off boil.
  • Whisk sugar, eggs, vanilla and cornflour until light and fluffy
  • Pour milk onto eggs and mix well
  • Return to medium heat and cook till thick
